Spring is here, and so is the election campaign

Well the nomination papers are signed and getting handed in for the Council election on May 6th, and it looks as though Gordon Brown will announce on Tuesday that the General Election will take place on the same day (I really hope he does!). Canvassing has shown relatively little anti-Labour feeling for a while round here. And in the last 3 weeks it has felt even more positive - reflecting the national shift as people wake up to the prospect of another Tory Government led, this time, by a shower of inexperienced public-school boys. I'm really looking forward to the next 5 weeks, although my family may not be quite so enthusiastic as they can't expect the same level of domestice service they have become used to . . . . .

  1. He's just announced it so it's -
    GOOD BYE AND GOOD RIDDENCE
to one of the worst governments ever (and that's just what a trade union leader thinks!)
I voted in '97 for that vile piece of rubbish that's Anne Keen and now wish I hadn't. I had so much desire to have things change, to see a new dawn of honesty in politics, to rid ourselves of sleaze, to remove the self serving scum that inhabited the commons. And guess what? I'm now voting Tory for exactly the same reasons. You and your vile, disgusting, lazy, thieving, decent people criminalising party should never, ever, ever get back into power until people like Brown, Mandleson, Blair, the Keens, yourself et al are permanently removed from the labour party so that people with dignity and honesty can go in and clear up the mess that you mendacious rubbish have created.

Re:"...by a shower of inexperienced public-school boys" I mean, are you really serious? Have you bothered to stop and actually count those on the labour front bench, past and present, who are ex. public school. God, talk about self deluding! And when those that aren't public school get to a ministerial position they are so incompetent that it beggars belief. I'm thinking here of Alan Johnson where words just fail me as to the stupidity of this man.

p.s. The latest polls aren't looking that good for you!
